varied and stimulating holiday. The Chateau is set in an area with an abundance of
activities. How you spend your time here is entirely up to you, but the choices include:
Visiting other castles in the Loire Valley, exploring churches and monasteries, trips to
nearby towns (Angers and Saumur), shopping in Paris, theatre and concert
performances, exhibitions, discovering the wine trail, Future scope - European picture
park, zoo, trips to the coast (Nantes), horse riding, golf, tennis, hot-air balloon rides,
boat trips on the Loire, canoe and kayak trips, bike tours …
Those visitors with a special interest in French late medieval and Renaissance art
and culture will welcome the opportunity to see the nearby Chateau of Angers with its
famous Tapisteries of the Apocalypse and the even more famous "Mille Fleurs"
goblins. Also not to forget are visits to the romanesque Churches of St. Martin, the
recently restored Abbey of Fontevraud and the Chateau de Saumur.
